The Living Legacy Forest at the Brunswick Park and Gardens is a celebration of any and all stages of life.  A tree planted at the birth of a child is a gift the child can visit and learn about the wonders of nature.  A tree planted to celebrate a marriage can signify the melding of two people into one common purpose and provide a place they can visit to reaffirm that union.  A tree planted at a young person’s graduation can represent the seeds of knowledge as he or she begins the voyage of life.  A tree planted at the death of a loved one can establish a living memorial in remembrance of a life well lived.  Each individual tree represents a deeply personal commemoration of a life event while collectively as a forest reminds us of our common humanity.  Each tree represents the changing seasons of a single life and the rebirth each spring of the beauty and wonderment of individual and societal hope, optimism and beauty.

Trees will be planted to honor individuals or groups. Trees will be planted in small groves and along several miles of trails. A stainless steel laser etched marker sized 8x10 identifying the celebrant will be placed at the base of each tree. Trees will be planted in Spring or Fall as determined by our arborist. A ceremony can be held at the planting of the tree under the guidelines determined by the management of the Brunswick Park & Gardens. There will be no limit to the number of people who attend a planting and no fees. Plantings will be protected and maintained by the Brunswick Park & Gardens.
